Animal Crossing Update - The Loop

For a process of creating other items see Crafting page.

Bubblefish Stew.png

Cooking is a mechanic that turns various ingredients into food, which can be gifted, sold for Gols, or eaten to restore Health or Stamina, increase Attributes permanently, or add or remove a Buff.

The majority of cooking is done with the Cooking Set, though certain foods can only be prepared via the Grill, Blender, or Drying Rack.

After the player has met Ack and hired him as their helper, he can cook food in bulk instantaneously.

Ingredients [ ]

Main article: Ingredients

Ingredients are items used to cook. Ingredients can be obtained by gathering, fishing, farming and ranching, or hunting. They can also be purchased at some stores, most notably at Sophie's Ranch. Most ingredients fit into one or more categories.

Cooking Set [ ]

Main article: Cooking Set

Cooking Set.png

Cooking Set can combine various cooking ingredients into new consumables. The player can assemble it after obtaining its diagram by donating 5 Data Discs to the Research Center.

Unlike with the other crafting stations, the player cannot interact with the Cooking Set to select an item to craft. Instead the player must add the ingredients directly into the Cooking Set, experimenting to find the right combination for a dish or using recipes learned from Django.

Other stations [ ]

Three other crafting stations can be used to make consumable items. The recipes for these crafting stations do not have to be learned: the player can view every item a station can craft by interacting with it.

Unlike the Cooking Set, crafting stations take time to process ingredients into a dish. Only one item can be produced at these crafting station at a time, through the player can queue multiplies of this item for further production.

Grill [ ]

Main article: Grill

Grill is the first cooking station available to the player. It is crafted using the Assembly Station.

Grill needs to be fueled with Wood in order to cook. There are currently only two recipes that can to be made with the Grill.

Drying Rack [ ]

Main article: Drying Rack

Drying Rack can also be used to make consumable items like Dried Apple Slices or Dried Apricots. It is the only crafting station that is created using the Worktable. Unlike other crafting stations, Drying Rack does not need to be fueled.

Blender [ ]

Main article: Blender

In addition to refined materials Blender can produce several consumables including juices, teas, and Salad Sauce. Blender needs to be fueled with Power Stones in order to produce. Blender is the only cooking station that can be placed in the Factory and automated using it.

Ack [ ]

Main article: Ack

Ack can cook for the player when hired as a helper. He can cook food in bulk instantaneously. Initially Ack can only cook dishes in his recipe list, but as the player discovers recipes of their own or upgrades him with recipe data chips, he can begin cooking those as well. Ack's data chip dishes are unique and cannot be cooked using any crafting station.
